SMT Operator

CMS Recruitment limited are working with a very well known electronics company based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This client has been designing and manufacturing life-saving products for over 20 years.

Due to high demand the client is looking to add to their current team and add additional SMT Operators to work within an already established team.

The main responsibilities for these roles will be to work within our SMT (Surface Mount Technology) cell for the operation of and selection of relevant programmes for our machines, in order to populate the Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs).

The right candidate will ideally but not essentially have some experience of working in manufacturing and be able to demonstrate some of the below points:

• Experience of working in an SMT environment
• Already worked within a similar environment or willing to learn (full training provided)
• Being able to understand assembly build documents
• Previous experience of inspection and touch up of PCBS
• Have a willingness to learn the new skills required to operate the SMT line
• Be a great team player who works well (both alone and with others).
• Have excellent attention to detail, with a good eyesight and dexterity, and the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately
• Must be reliable and able to demonstrate a flexible approach
• Have a keen willingness to learn and gain new skills

Shift pattern set out below

2 weeks of 6.00am – 2.30pm (Mon to Thur) and 6.00am – 12.30pm (Fri); then 2 weeks of 6.00pm – 6.00am (Mon to Thur)

Shift allowance will be applicable.
