Credit Controller

CMS Recruitment Limited are working with a well know organisation based in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear who are looking for a temporary Credit Controller. (The duration of this role will last for 2 months)

As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing and collecting outstanding customer payments to ensure the financial stability of our organization. This is a vital role within our finance department, and we are looking for someone who is knowledgeable in financial services and possesses excellent phone etiquette.

Duties:
– Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices
– Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to follow up on outstanding payments
– Resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes in a professional and efficient manner
– Maintain accurate records of all communication and collection activities
– Collaborate with the accounts payable team to reconcile customer accounts
– Analyze credit data and financial statements to assess creditworthiness of customers
– Utilize accounting software to update customer records and track payment history
– Perform data entry tasks to input payment information into the system
– Assist with telemarketing efforts to promote timely payments and resolve payment issues

Requirements:
– Previous experience in a similar role is essential, preferably in credit control or accounts receivable
– Strong knowledge of financial services and credit control procedures
– Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
– Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications
– Accurate data entry skills with attention to detail
– Ability to analyze credit data and make informed decisions based on financial statements
– Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve billing disputes effectively
– Proactive approach to collections with the ability to prioritize tasks
