Fence Erector
CMS Recruitment are currently working with a well know manufacturing company based in Washington , Tyne & Wear who are looking to recruit a number of fence erectors on a temporary to permanent basis.
Duties will involve but won't be limited too:
Establishes the location for a fence, and gather information needed to ensure that there are no electric cables or water lines in the area.
Aligns posts, using lines or by signing, and verifies vertical alignment of posts, using plumb bobs or spirit levels.
Measures and lays out fence lines and mark posthole positions, following instructions, drawings, or specifications.
Digs postholes, using spades, posthole diggers, or power-driven augers.
Sets metal or wooden posts in upright positions in postholes.
Mixes and pours concrete around bases of posts, or tamps soil into postholes to embed posts.
Makes rails for fences, by sawing lumber or by cutting metal tubing to required lengths.
Nail top and bottom rails to fence posts, or inserts them in slots on posts.
Stretches wire, wire mesh, or chain link fencing between posts, and attaches fencing to frames.
Needs knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction or repair of building structures.
Install equipment, machines, wiring or programs to meet specifications.
Adjust actions in relation to others’ actions.
Performs routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Considers the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
Analyse information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
Estimates sizes, distances, and quantities, or determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
Uses relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
Essential Criteria:
Experience in all types of fencing - Domestic and Commercial
Experience and knowledge of strict H&S operations and its practical implications
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work using own initiative and as part of a team
Full UK Driving Licence
Construction Skills Certification Scheme Certification
CAT & Genny Trained
Desirable Criteria:
· Ability to read cable drawings
· Grounds Maintenance certifications
· Abrasive Wheels
· First Aid training
· Manual Handling
